Mr Stelios Georgoulas is an ophthalmic surgeon consultant in leading eye hospital with more than 15 years’ experience in glaucoma (including paediatric) and complex cataract surgery   

He is a highly experienced Consultant Eye Surgeon who specialises in glaucoma medical and surgical treatment, cataract removal surgery, refractive lens exchange surgery, and laser eye treatment (yag laser capsulotomy). He underwent his specialist ophthalmic training in London, with five years spent at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital.

He completed a PhD in wound healing after glaucoma surgery at the University College London School of Pharmacy and Institute of Ophthalmology. He has also spent time as a glaucoma fellow at St Thomas Hospital in London, followed by two years in a paediatric and adult glaucoma fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London.

Mr Georgoulas has undertaken a significant number of eye surgical procedures in London and Cambridge, with audited outcomes that exceed those recommended by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He was appointed Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Cambridge University Hospitals in 2019, and is proud to lead the newly set-up Glaucoma Addenbrookes Hospital clinic at the Vision and Eye Research Centre at Anglia Ruskin University. 

Mr Georgoulas provides specialist consultations for patients with glaucoma disorders, and also specialises in cataract surgery for patients requiring monofocal or premium intraocular lenses such as Multifocal and Toric IOLs. He is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to his patients, and his extensive training and experience make him a highly sought-after consultant eye surgeon.

Stelios is the sole provider of paediatric medical and surgical glaucoma service at the Cambridge University Hospitals. He has done a fellowship in paediatric glaucoma at Moorfields Eye Hospital and he has been chosen as a Global Eye SITE Scholar for his experience in paediatric glaucoma by Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the top eye centre in the United States.
