Prof Nick Curzen BM(Hons) PhD FRCP FBCS is Professor of Interventional Cardiology at University of Southampton and Consultant Cardiologist at University Hospital NHS Trust.
He is a past President of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society, has been an invited expert advisor to NICE on sevaral occasions and to the Prime Minister's Directive Unit. He is also Deputy Medical Director for Invited Reviews at the Royal College of Physicians and serves on the BHF Clinical Studies Commitee.
Nick runs a busy research group and has been Chief Investigator to a number of multicentre studies and 3 randomised trials. He has a special interest in coronary artery disease, coronary physiology and imaging, as well as platelet function and computer assisted solutions to clinical problems. He has published 445 peer review publications and edited 4 cardiology textbooks including the Oxford Textbook of Interventional Cardiology. He is an invited lecturer and member of faculty on numerous national and international courses and conferences.
