Mr Paul Williams qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1990. Following an extensive basic surgical training, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons at his first attempt in 1995. His higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics was on the all Wales rotation, with further time spent at the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital; Fellowship training in Sydney, Australia; and additional specialist Foot and Ankle training in Bristol, France, Holland, and Switzerland. He obtained the Intercollegiate examination in 1999, again at his first attempt, and became a substantive full time consultant in March 2002 and is currently the Clinical Director for Trauma, Orthopaedic & Spinal surgery at the Swansea Bay University Health Board.

Mr Williams is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association; the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS); and the British Society for Children's Orthopaedic surgery (BSCOS). He is the Medical Co-ordinator and Honorary Orthopaedic Surgeon to Swansea City and the Wales FA being Acute Trauma and Medical Management in Football accredited. He is a Swansea Medical School Clinical Tutor and Examiner.
