He is fellowship trained in oculoplastics (periocular tumour control and reconstruction, ptosis, ectropion, entropion, trichiasis, blepharoplasty, facial palsy, Botox injections), lacrimal surgery (epiphora, intubation, DCR - endoscopic & external), orbital surgery (thyroid eye disease, decompression, tumours, enucleation / evisceration, socket care), and paediatric oculoplastics (ptosis, dermoid, epiphora).
Throughout his career, Mr O'Rourke has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on various topics related to his field of expertise. He remains active in clinical research and collaborates with other specialties and international research groups and was recently appointed UCD Assistant Clinical Professor as adjunct faculty with the school of medicine.
