Dr. med. Michael Essig ist Facharzt für Orthopädie und Unfallchirurgie und Teil des ärztlichen Teams der OrthoPraxis Oberhaching. Er verfügt über langjährige Erfahrung in der konservativen und operativen Orthopädie mit einem besonderen Schwerpunkt auf Erkrankungen und Verletzungen der Wirbelsäule. In seiner klinischen Tätigkeit behandelt er sowohl akute als auch chronische Beschwerden des Bewegungsapparates.Dr. Essig absolvierte sein Medizinstudium an der Universität Tübingen und sammelte während dieser Zeit internationale Erfahrung durch Studienaufenthalte in New York und Zürich. Seine fachärztliche Weiterbildung in Orthopädie und Unfallchirurgie führte ihn an verschiedene renommierte Kliniken in Deutschland und der Schweiz. Im Rahmen seiner Tätigkeit war er unter anderem in der Orthopädie und Traumatologie sowie in der Intensivmedizin eingesetzt.Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt seiner beruflichen Laufbahn lag in der Wirbelsäulenchirurgie. In diesem Bereich war Dr. Essig mehrere Jahre als Oberarzt an einem Schweizer Kantonsspital tätig und erwarb umfangreiche operative Erfahrung, unter anderem bei mikrochirurgischen Eingriffen an der Wirbelsäule, Bandscheibenoperationen, Bandscheibenprothesen und stabilisierenden Wirbelsäulenoperationen.Er ergänzt seine operative Expertise durch konservative Therapieverfahren und verfügt über Zusatzqualifikationen in spezieller Schmerztherapie, manueller Medizin und Akupunktur. Darüber hinaus besitzt er die Qualifikation zur psychosomatischen Grundversorgung sowie zur bildgebenden Diagnostik des Bewegungsapparates. Dr. Essig ist Mitglied mehrerer medizinischer Fachgesellschaften, darunter Fachgesellschaften für Wirbelsäulenchirurgie und Akupunktur.
