As Urogynaecology Lead for the Trust, he co chairs the Pelvic Floor Multidisciplinary Team and develops personalised care pathways tailored to each patient’s needs.

Through his specialist clinical work and service development, Mr Freites regularly receives referrals from consultant colleagues across York and Scarborough, including colleagues from other specialties, for the treatment of complex pelvic floor pathology. This includes minimal access and joint specialty laparoscopic surgery for multi compartment pelvic organ prolapse, and specialist non mesh continence procedures such as fascial sling surgery and colposuspension for complex or recurrent urinary incontinence that would previously have required referral outside the Trust.
