About Mr Christopher Brewer
Mr Christopher Brewer is a highly skilled Consultant Gynaecologist based in York at Nuffield Health York Hospital. He completed his medical degree at the University of Birmingham in 2004, followed by his specialist training in Yorkshire. During his training, he focused on honing his expertise as a gynaecological surgeon, gaining valuable experience in various aspects of benign gynaecology. He became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2011 and later completed his Master’s degree at the University of Leeds in 2013. He pursued further training in colposcopy and became a certified colposcopist, registered by the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP) in 2014. Mr Brewer was selected to participate in the competitive entry BSGE Laparoscopic Training Programme, a prestigious travelling fellowship that provided him with mentorship from some of the leading laparoscopic gynaecological surgeons in the UK and Europe. In 2015, Mr Brewer successfully completed his specialist training and was appointed as a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where he holds the position of Lead of the Gynaecological Cancer Unit. His primary interests lie in Colposcopy, Gynaecological Oncology, and Benign Gynaecology. Within his practice, Mr Brewer offers a comprehensive range of services to address various gynaecological conditions. His expertise spans from diagnosing and treating menstrual problems, fibroids, and pelvic pain to managing ovarian and adnexal masses. He is highly experienced in handling cervical and cervical smear problems, as well as vulval problems, including VIN (Vulval Intraepithelial Neoplasia). Mr Brewer is well-versed in managing uterine prolapse and vaginal prolapse. The treatments and tests offered by Mr Brewer include hysteroscopic surgery, hysteroscopy, laparoscopic surgery, hysterectomy and vaginal prolapse surgery, his proficiency in these procedures ensures that his patients receive optimal outcomes. Mr Brewer also offers smear tests (cervical screening) and colposcopy services to detect and address potential issues at an early stage.
