About Mr Ioannis Loukopoulos
Mr Loukopoulos is consultant transplant surgeon at Guy's Hospital in London since 2013. He is the lead surgeon for robotic donor nephrectomy and robotic kidney transplantation with over 80 cases performed so far. He performs kidney transplant for adults and children and is part of the paediatric kidney transplant program for London area. Before coming to Guy's he worked five years as a consultant in general surgery and kidney transplantation at Evaggelismos Hospital in Athens Greece. He graduated from Athens Medical School in 1997 and qualified in general surgery in 2006. As part of his research he has developed a training model for robotic assisted kidney transplantation.
