Dr Banerjee qualified MBBS with distinction in 1985 from Guys and St Thomas’s Hospital, London University, and also obtained an MSc(Distinction) in Biochemistry from Kings College London . He completed GI surgical training ( FRCS(Gen)) as well as medical gastroenterology ( SCE in Gastroenterology and Hepatology , RCP(UK) and FRCP(Ed)), has completed advanced gastroenterology training in several prestigious hospitals in the UK and abroad including St Marks Hospital, London, Hopital St Antoine, Paris, and University Hospital Tubingen, Germany and he holds a research Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Nottingham for original work in pancreatitis.
He is on the GMC Specialist register in Medical Gastroenterology, General Surgery and Pharmaceutical Medicine, and is also an FFPM for his work on the safety of new medicines, including new treatments in inflammatory bowel disease and GI oncology. Mr Banerjee is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of patient care, has published in peer-reviewed journals and is actively involved in medical education as a Fellow of The Faculty of Medical Educators, reflecting his commitment to advancing the field of gastroenterology. He also holds an MBA degree reflecting his training and experience in medical management.
