Mr Iman Bayat is an Australian-trained Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon with a focus on managing a wide range of Arterial and Venous Disease. He is particularly interested in the endovascular management of lower limb arterial and venous disease, post thrombotic syndrome, and complex venous disease.
Mr Bayat completed his Internship and basic surgical training in the United Kingdom, where he obtained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. After additional training as a registrar at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane, he entered the Vascular Surgery Training Program of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. His training included completing one year of training at the prestigious Cambridge University Hospitals NHS trust, and two short post-fellowship trainings at the Skane University Hospital in Malmo, Sweden and the Sanger Heart and Vascular institute in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
Mr Bayat is the Head of Unit – Vascular Surgery at Northern Health, where he has helped establish the NH Vein Clinic. He is also a visiting Vascular surgeon at Bendigo Health and the Austin Hospital. He is proud of his Persian roots and international education and upbringing. Mr Bayat's passion for vascular surgery began during his basic surgical training in the UK, where he fell in love with the elegant and precise surgical techniques. He believes in providing the best possible care to his patients and regularly attends local and international scientific meetings to maintain the best up-to-date practice.
