About Dr Helen Cahill
Dr. Helen Cahill is a highly experienced Consultant Physician with specialist training in Respiratory Medicine, General Medicine, and Intensive Care Medicine. She is a specialist in Intensive Care and Interstitial Lung Disease and currently works at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Intensivist and Interstitial Lung Disease specialist. With years of experience, Dr. Cahill has gained extensive knowledge in the management of breathlessness, post-COVID interstitial lung abnormalities, and has an in-depth understanding of post-critical care symptoms. In addition to her work at the NHS Foundation Trust, Dr. Cahill also undertakes private work at the Lister hospital and provides private medico-legal services. She is committed to providing her patients with the highest standard of care and has a strong background and interest in acute care pathways, patient safety, and governance. Dr. Cahill is a highly skilled physician with an impressive list of qualifications, including a Bsc (MedSci) Hons in Sports and Exercise Medicine from the University of Glasgow in 1997, an MB ChB from the University of Glasgow in 2000, an FRCP from the Royal College of Physicians (London) in 2004, EDIC (European Diploma of Intensive Care Medicine) in 2011, and FFICM from the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine in 2013. In 2020 was appointed as a Medical Examiner and holds the RCPathME. She is passionate about working in partnership with her patients to achieve better health outcomes.
