About Mr Harry Bulstrode
Harry Bulstrode is Honorary Consultant Neurosurgeon at Cambridge University Hospitals where he performs over 100 spinal operations per year, primarily via the latest minimally-invasive approaches- visit www.cambridgespine.one to find out more. Mr. Bulstrode has additional specialist interests in stereotactic brain surgery for movement disorders, including deep brain stimulation and radiofrequency ablation, and is Principal Investigator at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute, where his laboratory studies stem cell biology in cancer and treatment of movement disorders. His research focuses on understanding how brain stem cells interact with their surroundings, a process that plays a key role in aggressive brain tumours and diseases like Parkinson’s. Harry and his team are working on new ways to use the body’s immune system to fight tumours and exploring how stem cell therapies can safely and effectively repair damaged areas of the brain. Mr. Bulstrode studied medicine in Cambridge and then Oxford, achieving First Class Honours. He trained in Neurosurgery in Southampton and Cambridge, then as fellow in London at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
