About Dr Simon Fynn
Dr. Simon Fynn is a highly regarded Consultant Cardiologist at Royal Papworth Hospital, where he specialises in the investigation and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. He is a member of the Clinical Advisory Group of the Anglia Stroke & Heart Network and serves as the Network Lead for Electrophysiology. Dr. Fynn’s medical training began at the University of Cambridge, where he studied medicine at St. John’s College. He completed his specialist cardiology training in Manchester before gaining valuable experience at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia, one of the world’s leading centres in cardiac electrophysiology. Dr. Fynn has a particular focus on atrial fibrillation, the most common heart rhythm disorder, and has received an MD from the University of Cambridge for his research in this area. He is skilled in the use of radiofrequency catheter ablation as a treatment for arrhythmias. In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Fynn has led the development of a Family Cardiac Screening Clinic, providing screening for inherited cardiac conditions in families affected by sudden and unexpected cardiac death. He has published extensively on the mechanisms and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias and the use of Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy in the treatment of cardiac failure.
