Professor Jonathan N Townend is a leading Cardiologist with a special interest in interventional cardiology, coronary artery disease and heart failure.
Professor Townend qualified in medicine at Birmingham University in 1983 and gained their MRCP in 1986. They trained in cardiology at St Georges Hospital London and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. Professor Townend was appointed Lecturer in the University Department of Cardiology in 1994 and then BHF Senior Lecturer 1997-2002.
