About
Dr. Howard Marshall is a Consultant Cardiologist specialising in cardiac rhythm disorders. He qualified in 1988 with an MBChB from the University of Leeds and went on to earn his MD from the University of Birmingham, where his research focused on atrioventricular node ablation and pacing in the treatment of atrial fibrillation. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1992.
Appointed as a Consultant at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 2000, Dr. Marshall has played a leading role in developing advanced cardiac services. He established the hospital’s pacing and defibrillator service, which has grown to become the largest in the region. In collaboration with Dr. Mike Griffith, he has also expanded the ablation service, creating one of the UK’s largest centres for atrial fibrillation ablation and hosting several international live training courses.
Dr. Marshall’s clinical practice includes catheter ablation for all types of tachycardia, as well as cardiac catheterisation, angioplasty, and stent placement. He currently practises at The Harborne Hospital, The Droitwich Spa Hospital, and The Priory Hospital.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Marshall is actively involved in publishing research in cardiac electrophysiology. Outside medicine, he enjoys classical music, fell walking, and scuba diving.
