About
Craig is an accomplished Sports Podiatrist with more than 25
years of experience spanning Australia and the Middle East. He commenced his
career in leading Sports Medicine and Physiotherapy centres in Melbourne, where
he not only practised clinically but also established an orthotic laboratory.
This facility enabled him to design and manufacture the orthoses he prescribed,
representing a distinctive skill set that continues to be a core differnce in his
professional practice.
Throughout his career, Craig has collaborated with athletes
representing a broad spectrum of disciplines and competitive levels. He
developed close working relationships with elite Australian rules footballers,
national and international basketball players, and top-ranked tennis
professionals. His expertise was also highly regarded among elite distance
runners and triathletes. Notably during this time, Craig worked onsite at the Australian Tennis
Open and served as Podiatry Director for the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games.
At the conclusion of 2006, Craig relocated to the Middle
East, where he was instrumental in establishing the Podiatry service for a
newly created Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine centre in Qatar. Drawing on his
extensive knowledge in Sports Podiatry and orthotic design, he developed a
service that became integral to this internationally recognised institution.
During his tenure, Craig worked with numerous international football players
from premier European leagues, track and field athletes, top-ranked male and
female tennis players, multi-sport academy participants, and NBA basketball
athletes.
In 2019, Craig moved to Dubai to launch the Sports Podiatry
service at Mediclinic, pioneering a fully digital workflow featuring 3D laser
scanning, digital design, and local 3D printing of foot orthoses—thereby
retaining full control over the design process. The ability to deliver highly
customised orthoses rapidly led to renewed collaboration with visiting elite
international athletes, as well as support for a diverse range of local
athletes of all ages from the growing recreational community.
Currently at RU Active, Craig focuses on providing patient
care within a high-calibre Sports and Exercise Medicine team. This role affords
him additional flexibility to deliver highly bespoke orthotic solutions
tailored to complex issues related to foot and ankle biomechanics.
