Mr Skelly is a Consultant General and Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon. They gained subspecialty fellowship training in Dublin focusing on breast cancer management and combined oncoplastic breast surgery procedures. These procedures include breast implant, pedicled flap reconstruction and revisional breast surgery for breast cancer and benign breast disease. Mr Skelly has a broad range of experience in general surgery and breast surgery, having worked in multiple tertiary referral units in Northern Ireland, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland. They specialise in the treatment of breast cancer and general surgery patients with a keen interest in oncoplastic breast surgery for cancer patients. Mr Skelly also has a special interest in the assessment of hernias with extensive experience of hernia repair surgery.
Mr Skelly graduated from the University of Dundee with a Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery (MBChB) in 2006. They then went on to complete a Post Graduate Masters Degree (MSc) in Advanced Surgical Practice at Cardiff University in 2013. In 2018, they became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (Intercollegiate). Following this, Mr Skelly undertook a Post CCT Fellowship in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery and General Surgery at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital Dublin & Mater Private Hospital Dublin from 2018-19.
