The Canberra Region Neurology and Pain Centre is a leading multidisciplinary centre providing comprehensive care for patients with various neurological and pain conditions.The aim is to provide individualised evidence-based management for each patient to optimise their condition and improve their quality of life.The specialist team is led by Dr. Yash Gawarikar (neurologist) and Dr. Roopa Gawarikar (pain specialist) alongside a team of dedicated professionals including neurologists, allied health specialists, specialist nurses, neurophysiology technicians, and administrative staff.The administrative team handles practice appointments, answers patient enquiries, facilitates payments, and maintains patient confidential records.The specialists have expertise in stroke and neurovascular disease, Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders, and headache and migraine. They also have expertise in chronic, neuropathic and cancer pain conditions, opioid dependence, and pain education.The practice offers nerve conduction studies including repetitive stimulation and EMG for conditions such as carpal tunnel and peripheral neuropathy, and EEG for epilepsy and suspected seizure patients.The specialists provide Botox injections for migraine and cervical dystonia, radiofrequency ablation for neck and back pain, and PRP injections into joints and bursae.
