About Mr Zine Elhousseini
Dr Zine Elhousseini is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon based in London. He has over 12 years of clinical experience in ophthalmic surgery working in Syria and the UK. He received his medical degree from Damascus University in Syria in 2006 and completed his Master's degree in Ophthalmology from the same university in 2011. He became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2013 and a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 2017. He is also a Member of the European Society of Retina Specialists. Dr Elhousseini sees private patients at the Royal Free London Hospital, Platinum Medical Centre, St John & St Elizabeth Hospital and The Wellington Diagnostic & Outpatient Centre. He is passionate about providing an excellent and elaborative eye care experience for each of his patients and measures all his work successes by how satisfied his patients are. He has vast expertise ophthalmology and is specialised in the following: • Medical and surgical retinal management • Vitreoretinal surgery • Cataracts • Laser refractive eye surgery He also has experience treating and managing uveitis and external eye disease. Dr Elhousseini has held the position of Deputy Academic Lead and Examiner for medical students at the University College London and the London Eye Course. He has been a co-author of several publications surrounding vitreoretinal surgery and other aspects of ophthalmology and has presented this work both nationally and internationally. He is passionate about maintaining his expertise and does so by regularly attending conferences and meetings about the latest developments in ophthalmic technology.
