About
Dr. Lester’s clinical and academic expertise spans a wide range of haematological conditions, including thrombosis, anticoagulation, bleeding disorders, and immune haematology such as ITP, TTP, and AIHA, as well as obstetric haematology and anaemia.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Lester is an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor within the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Birmingham. He plays a leading role in shaping national clinical practice through his position as Chair of the British Society for Haematology (BSH) Haemostasis and Thrombosis Guidelines Taskforce and as Clinical Director of UK NEQAS Blood Coagulation, where he oversees national quality assurance programmes in laboratory haemostasis.
Dr. Lester is a Principal Investigator for multiple clinical trials and an invited speaker at national and international conferences, contributing extensively to advancements in haematology research, education, and clinical standards.
