Clinical Expertise
Dr Storrar specialises in theassessment and management of both common and complex respiratory conditions. His areas of expertise include asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic cough, breathlessness, bronchiectasis, recurrent chest infections, and interstitial lung disease (including pulmonary fibrosis). He also provides comprehensive evaluation of suspected lung cancer and works
closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients receive timely and
coordinated care.
In addition, Dr Storrar has significant experience in managing patients with unexplained breathlessness and post-viral respiratory symptoms, including those following COVID-19 infection. His clinics are structured to provide detailed assessment, access to appropriate investigations, and clear, evidence-based management plans tailored
to each individual.
Approach to Care
Dr Storrar places strong emphasis on listening carefully to patients and understanding how their symptoms affect their quality of life. He aims to provide clear explanations and involve patients fully in decisions about their care. His approach combines clinical expertise with a supportive and reassuring manner, ensuring patients feel
confident and informed throughout their treatment journey.
He works closely with a network of allied health professionals, including specialist nurses, physiotherapis, and diagnostic teams, enabling a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to respiratory care.
Training and Qualifications
Dr Storrar graduated withdistinction in Clinical Sciences from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School in London in 2005. He completed his postgraduate training in Respiratory and General (Internal) Medicine in the Wessex region and was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2009.
He also holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, with research focused on novel therapies for severe allergic asthma, reflecting his longstanding interest in advancing treatment options for patients with complex airways disease.
NHS Practice and Leadership
Alongside his private practice, Dr Storrar is a Consultant Respiratory and General Physician at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He has held several senior leadership roles, including Clinical Lead for Respiratory Services, Clinical Director for Long Term Conditions and Divisional Medical Director for the Medicine Division.
He is also Clinical Lead for Asthma Services, where he has played a key role in developing high-quality, integrated care pathways.
Teaching and Training
Dr Storrar is actively involved in medical education and training within the NHS. He has served as Deputy Training Programme Director in the Wessex Deanery and works as both an Educational and Clinical Supervisor for resident doctors and specialist trainees. He is committed to maintaining high standards of clinical practice and supporting the development of future respiratory physicians.
