About
He also holds the role of Associate Clinical Professor and Honorary Consultant in Medical Oncology at the University of Birmingham. His clinical and academic work contributes to the BRAIN MATRIX study, led by Professor Colin Watts, aimed at improving outcomes for people with brain tumours through advanced research and collaboration across clinical oncology, neurosurgery, radiology, nursing and allied health teams.
Before this, he worked at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust as a locum consultant in medical oncology, where he specialised in managing early and advanced stage breast cancer and supported neuro-oncology services. He completed his specialist training in medical oncology in Leeds and held the position of NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer at the University of Leeds.
His previous academic research includes a DPhil in Oncology at the University of Oxford, focusing on the early detection of brain metastases using MRI techniques. He also spent a year as a visiting scholar at the University of Virginia, researching focused ultrasound for immune response enhancement in brain metastases.
He has experience in delivering systemic therapies including endocrine therapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and immunotherapy. His work spans clinical trials, neuro-oncology, cancer care, and translational research.
