Ms Ursula Sattar is an integrative psychotherapist accredited with the Irish Association for Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP) and the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP). She worked for The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre for eight years and she represented the DRCC in the Dochas womens prison at Mountjoy for seven years. She currently works in private practice.
She has fourteen years experience supporting individuals facing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges such as anxiety, low self-esteem, panic attacks, relational trauma and relationship difficulties, grief and loss .
Ursula has a particular interest in working with trauma-related issues, including the lasting impact of childhood and adult sexual, emotional, and physical abuse. She provides a safe, compassionate space where clients can explore painful experiences at their own pace and begin the process of healing and growth.
Her work is trauma-informed drawing from internal family systems, sensorimotor approaches and Brainspotting. She is sensitive to people feeling isolated in long lasting distructive patterns. She works well with attachment wounds, post-traumatic stress and depression.
As a neurodivergent-aware therapist, Ursula values difference and recognises the importance of tailoring therapy to each individual’s unique way of experiencing the world. She also warmly welcomes members of the LGBTQI+ community and works collaboratively with issues relating to sexual identity and orientation.
Ursula is also experienced in supporting clients with anger issues, cultural differences, health-related concerns, work stress, and personal development. Her integrative approach draws on multiple therapeutic modalities, including art therapy, enabling her to adapt her work to best meet each client’s needs and foster meaningful, lasting change.
Ursula welcomes new clients to see in person or by video consultation.
