Ms Therese Duggan is an experienced psychotherapist with over three decades of professional practice in mental health, family systems, and social care. She has a particular focus on parent support. She began her career after qualifying as a social worker from University College Cork in 1992, working extensively across community and mental health settings to support individuals and families facing complex challenges.
Therese went on to specialise in systemic practice, completing her training as a family therapist at the Clanwilliam Institute in 2006. She later earned an Advanced Diploma in Clinical Supervision from Middlesex University in 2011 and furthered her expertise with a Diploma in Practice Teaching and Supervision in Social Work in 2018.
Her clinical work spans adolescent and adult mental health where she has supported clients and families in navigating conditions such as bipolar disorder, psychosis, trauma, borderline personality disorder, and emerging conversations around gender identity. These experiences shaped her strong interest in working with couples, parents, and families.
Alongside her therapeutic practice, Therese provides supervision to guidance counsellors within the Department of Education and offers professional supervision to social workers. She also teaches on the systemic family therapy training programme at the Clanwilliam Institute.
