About
Mr. Steven David Brookes-Fazakerley is an orthopaedic expert specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of shoulder and elbow injuries, including frozen shoulder, rotator cuff tears, arthritis, and fractures of the upper limb. He offers a comprehensive range of treatments such as injection therapy, hydrodilatation, keyhole surgery, shoulder replacement, and fracture fixation.
Originally from North Wales, Mr. Brookes-Fazakerley has lived in Merseyside and Cheshire for the past 25 years. He completed his medical and orthopaedic training in Liverpool and further honed his expertise by undertaking internationally recognised shoulder and elbow fellowships at Wrightington Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, where he developed a keen interest in arthroscopic and shoulder replacement surgery, including performing computer-navigated shoulder replacement operations.
In 2019, he was appointed at Wirral University Teaching Hospital with a specific focus on shoulder and elbow trauma and shoulder replacement surgery. Prior to this, he held a consultant position at Aintree University Hospital, where he managed major traumatic orthopaedic injuries of both the upper and lower limbs and reconstructed complex fractures of the shoulder and elbow.
Mr. Brookes-Fazakerley earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Liverpool in 2006, following his Bachelor of Science from Imperial College, London in 2001, and completed his specialty training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in Greater Manchester and Merseyside. He also holds private practice privileges at Wirral Spire Murrayfield Hospital, where he continues to deliver exceptional care.
