Dr Sherif Elhussiny is a Specialist Paediatric Surgeon at Saudi German Hospital Dubai with over 10 years of clinical experience treating children and neonates. He completed his primary medical qualification at Zagazig University, Egypt in 2007, subsequently completing his Master's degree in General Surgery at Al-Azhar University in 2012. In 2018, following a fellowship in paediatric surgery, he became certified by the Egyptian Board of Paediatric Surgery and was awarded his MD in Paediatric Surgery from Ain Shams University. During his fellowship, he trained at a high volume tertiary paediatric centre in Egypt and gained expertise in paediatric laparoscopic surgery.
Dr Elhussiny has special interests in the management of congenital anomalies in children that affect the abdomen, head, neck and genitourinary system, including the following:
Undescended testes
Chronic constipation
Hirschsprung's disease
Hypospadias
Diaphragmatic hernia
Trachea-oesophageal fistula
Neonatal intestinal obstruction
Appendicitis
He has expertise in a broad range of both minimally invasive and open surgical procedures, such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy, open hernia repair, laparoscopic appendectomy and male circumcision.
Dr Elhussiny is a Member of the Egyptian Paediatric Surgical Association (EPSA) and has published numerous papers in internationally recognised paediatric journals. He also has attended and presented his work at conferences and workshops in the field of paediatric surgery.
