About Dr Sabarinathan Loganathan
Dr Sabarinathan Loganathan is a consultant paediatric gastroenterologist based at Spire Nottingham Hospital.
He has specialist interests in a range of bowel conditions including:
• gastroesophageal reflux,
• coeliac disease,
• feeding difficulties,
• inflammatory bowel disease,
• allergic bowel disease,
• dyspepsia,
• Helicobacter infection,
• constipation,
• other functional bowel disorders,
• polyposis conditions

He is able to perform diagnostic upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, wireless video capsule endoscopy, and colonoscopy.
Dr Loganathan trained in medicine in 1997 at The Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University in India before specialising in paediatrics at a number of centres in the UK and completing his higher training in Nottingham. He also gained experience at Birmingham Children's Hospital, Alderhey Children's Hospital, Liverpool and Manchester Children's Hospital, where he developed his expertise in gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition (PGHAN).
Following this, he joined Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital, providing PGHAN services and leading on inflammatory bowel disease, complex enteral nutrition, polyposis, and hepatology services. He later returned to Nottingham Children's Hospital, where he now provides tertiary paediatric gastroenterology services as part of a multidisciplinary team.
He is a member of a number of professional organisations, including the British Association of Study Liver Disease (BASL), the British Association of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (BAPEN), and the British Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (BSPGHAN).
