Mr Ricci Plastow is a Consultant Orthopaedic and trauma surgeon specialising in hip and knee reconstructive surgery. He is a consultant at The princess Grace Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK and at University College London Hospitals.
Mr Plastow graduated from the Manchester University Medical school in 2008 with MBBS. His training in hip and knee surgery started in Manchester where he was awarded the fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2017 and consultant certificate in 2019. He subsequently enhanced his experience with the internationally renowned fellowship programme in Vancouver, Canada. This allowed specialist knowledge and high volume surgery in soft tissue knee sports injuries. He returned to London to complete a fellowship specialising in arthroplasty and robotic surgery with Professor Haddad for one year.
He now specialises in lower limb arthroplasty and lower limb sports injuriessurgery. This includes anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction; meniscal surgery; multiligament knee reconstruction; cartilage surgery including cartilage restoration treatments;hip and knee joint replacements; partial knee joint replacement; robotic assisted joint replacement; joint preservation through osteotomy; patellofemoral stabilisation (kneecap stabilisation).
He is Training lead for the Royal College of Surgeons Robotic and digital assisted surgery (RADAR) group progressing the use of digital technology within Orthopaedic surgical training. He was research lead for the British Orthopaedic Sports Trauma and Arthroscopy Association (BOSTAA) for three years.
He is the lower limb teaching lead for UCL MSc Orthopaedic course and has a passion for teaching students from medical school up to surgeons in training. He has a keen interest in research looking at sports injuries in the elite athlete and progressing technology such as robotic surgery.

Wednesdays: 5:30 – 7:00 pm alternate weeks at ISEH (when not all day at 30 Devonshire Street)
Thursdays: 5:30 – 7:00 pm every week at ISEH
