Dr Chakrabarti graduated with an MB ChB in 2010 from the University of Glasgow before undertaking obstetrics and gynaecology training in London. In 2018, she received the Ethicon Fellowship in Laparoscopy Surgery and, in 2021, she also gained a master's degree in clinical education from King's College London.
Dr Chakrabarti divides her time between her academic duties at UCL Medical School and her clinical practice. She is the current Curriculum Map Lead at UCL Medical School, as well as a member of the Quality Assurance & Enhancement Unit. She is also chair of the Gender Equality Taskforce and led the strategic response for tackling misogyny and gender-based violence.
She is also a member of the RCOG Workforce Planning Group, and she teaches postgraduates at the Royal College of Physicians.
