About Mr Rafik Yassa
Mr. Rafik Yassa is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon affiliated with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. He also practises privately at Oaklands Hospital in Manchester. Graduating in Egypt, Mr. Yassa pursued further specialisation with an MSc in Trauma and Orthopaedics, completing in 2002. His training continued in Manchester, leading to Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2008 and an Intercollegiate Fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2018. Mr. Yassa has developed expertise in various aspects of knee surgery and lower limb arthroplasty, consolidating his skills through specialised fellowships after his higher orthopaedic training. His training in the North West included pivotal experience at renowned units such as Wrightington Hospital and Stockport Knee Unit, focusing extensively on lower limb surgery. He further enriched his skills with an A-O Fellowship at Krankenhaus der Barmerzigen Brüder, Germany, and a prestigious Post-CCT DePuy Knee Fellowship at York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Continuing his professional development, Mr. Yassa undertook a Charnley Latta Travelling Knee Fellowship in Lyon, France, focusing on patello-femoral disorders. Known for his patient-centred approach, Mr. Yassa prioritises delivering exceptional care tailored to individual patient needs. He has been instrumental in introducing innovative services related to trauma and knee surgery at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and remains active in research, with numerous publications and international presentations on knee surgery and trauma to his credit.
