Professor Xavier Griffin is an experienced surgeon dealing with hip pain, broken bones and complications form treatments for both. He is a recognised international specialist in the treatment of severe pelvic bone and hip socket injuries - fixing and reconstructing the injuries. As part of his training and practice he is expert in hip replacements for arthritis and dealing with problematic hip replacements which are loose, broken or infected. He is the current President of the UK Orthopaedic Trauma Society and Chair of the SICOT Grants Awards Committee. After completing his medical degree at the University of Oxford in 2002, Professor Griffin underwent ten years of intensive training in trauma and orthopaedics in Bristol and the West Midlands. He then pursued fellowship training in Australia, where he was trained by world-leading experts in orthopaedic surgery, with a particular focus on the treatment of pelvic and hip socket injuries. In 2012, he earned his PhD from the University of Warwick and went on to become a Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedics of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2014.
