About
A/Prof Paul McCrory is an experienced consultant neurologist, general physician, and sports physician at Neurology Network Melbourne (Box Hill location). He has a special interest in traumatic brain injuries and is well-known in the field of sports concussion and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). A/Prof Paul McCrory is also one of just a few sports neurologists holding dual accreditation as both a neurologist and a sports & exercise physician.
A/Prof Paul McCrory has worked with many sports professionals including those involved with F1 racing, professional boxing, equestrian sports, and the Olympics. He was also the team doctor for Collingwood Football Club for 15 years. A/Prof Paul McCrory now has input into medical policies for a number of organisations including the Medical Commission, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the International Rugby Board, the Australian Football League, and the International Ice Hockey Federation. He has also sat on a number of expert panels for the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and was a past president of the Australasian College of Sports Physicians. He currently serves on the Council of the British Association of Sports & Exercise Medicine and is a member of the Board of the Institute of Sports & Exercise Medicine (UK).
A/Prof Paul McCrory gained his MBBS from the University of Melbourne in 1993 before achieving fellowship with the Australasian College of Sports Physicians and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He also currently has a practitioner fellowship with the NHMRC which he is undertaking at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health in Melbourne.
