About
Graduating in medicine from the University of Sheffield in 1990, Mr Sutton pursued surgical training in the north of England. He later became a Fellow of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Edinburgh and England by 1994 and underwent specialised orthopaedic training within the Yorkshire orthopaedic program, focusing on knee joint intricacies and associated sports injuries. He also pursued a year-long clinical fellowship at the Adidas Sports Medicine Institute in Auckland, New Zealand where he further developed his expertise in knee-related sports injuries. He became a Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedics of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1999 and was appointed as a consultant in 2001.
M Sutton’s wealth of experience and expertise leads him to be sought after for second opinions and insight on complex cases. He also has extensive experience in caring for premier footballers, rugby players, and Olympic athletes.
Alongside his clinical practice, he regularly trains fellow medical professionals and surgeons in arthroscopic surgery. He is also a course convenor and teacher on the Royal College of Surgeons’ orthopaedics ‘Core skills’ course for trainee specialists. Mr Sutton has multiple peer-reviewed academic papers and has authored five chapters in medical textbooks.
