About
Dr Olivier Carcuac is an associate researcher at the University of Gothenburg's Department of Periodontology, involved in the education program for under- and post-graduate students. Dr Olivier has a special interest for minimal invasive microsurgery, aesthetic periodontal plastic surgery and aesthetic implant dentistry.
Dr Olivier graduated as a Dentist (DDS) from Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III, France, in 1997. Following a full-time three-year specialist training in Periodontics in Stockholm, Sweden, he earned his Post-Graduate in Periodontics in 2008. He further continued his education and earned his PhD in Periodontics from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2015.
He has produced several scientific publications within the field of dental implants and periodontology. Dr Olivier is member of the editorial board of Clinical Oral Implants Research and serves as a referee in several other scientific dental journals. He was awarded the DG Paro Innovation Award in 2014 from the German Society of Periodontology. He is one of the Key Opinion Leader for Hu-Friedy and lectures frequently in prestigious congresses around the globe.
Dr Olivier is also a member of the European Federation of Periodontology, the ITI International Team for Implantology as well as the Swedish Society of Periodontology, the Scandinavian Society of Periodontology and the Swedish Dental Association. Co-author of the award-winner and best-seller iPad application "iMuco-gingival recessions".
