Ms Nola Poltorak

Nola Poltorak is a psychologist with an MA in Clinical & Health Psychology and a psychodynamic psychotherapist holding an MSc in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy & Counselling. With a deep passion for psychology and psychotherapy, she has built a platform to share her insights, experiences, and reflections, aiming to foster a positive mindset and combat the stigma surrounding mental health. Born and raised in Warsaw, Nola has lived in various countries before settling in London. Her international background has given her a unique sensitivity to the needs and challenges faced by modern-day expats, particularly those related to identity formation and crises across cultures, languages, and life stages. In her professional journey, Nola has served as a Clinical Director at a mental health charity and worked as a mental health worker for an LGBTQ+ charity, providing both individual and group support. Today, she works as a psychodynamic therapist and psychologist in private practice and collaborate with several organisations to offer tailored mental health interventions. Nola is primarily inspired by the psychodynamic approach to psychotherapy, though she remains open to and curious about other perspectives in talking therapy. Her core areas of interest include personality disorders, common mental health conditions, and psychological trauma, with a particular sensitivity to the unique challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community. Nola believes that trust, empathy, authenticity, and humour are essential in building a therapeutic relationship. Nola finds great honour and humility in witnessing her clients' journeys of healing, growth, and change, and firmly believes in the human capacity for transformation, even in the most challenging circumstances.
