About Dr Muhammad Fatum
Dr Muhammad Fatum is a highly experienced Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery with over two decades of clinical expertise across internationally recognised IVF units. He has a particular interest in complex fertility challenges and a strong focus on innovation in reproductive technologies. He completed an intensive three-year fellowship in Reproductive Medicine, Surgery, and advanced minimally invasive techniques at the Nuffield Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Oxford. During this time, he was instrumental in developing advanced treatment pathways and surgical approaches in fertility care. Dr Fatum went on to join the Oxford Fertility Unit, where he served as a Fertility Specialist and held senior leadership roles including Medical Team Manager and Deputy Medical Director. In these positions, he played a key role in training and mentoring clinical fellows and subspecialty trainees in reproductive medicine. His passion for education continues today through his academic appointments as Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Oxford and Honorary Associate Professor in Reproductive Health at University College London, where he supervises PhD candidates in reproductive sciences. His leadership experience also includes serving as Medical Director at IVF London and as Executive Vice President for Medical and Clinical Affairs at Avenues Reproductive Health Centre in London. In these roles, he has helped shape clinical governance and champion innovation in fertility treatment. Dr Fatum has a strong academic and research profile, with numerous high-impact publications in peer-reviewed journals. His key research interests include fertility preservation, IVF for complex or rare cases, in vitro maturation (IVM), age-related infertility, reproductive genomics, clinical genetics, and the integration of artificial intelligence in reproductive health. He was the clinical lead in establishing the ovarian tissue cryopreservation programme at Oxford — a pioneering initiative offering fertility preservation for paediatric and adolescent cancer patients who might otherwise lose the chance of having biological children. Dr Fatum brings to The Agora a deep commitment to combining evidence-based medicine with cutting-edge technology, always placing patients’ individual needs at the heart of care. He is fluent in English and Hebrew and works with individuals and couples from a wide range of backgrounds, offering inclusive and compassionate fertility support.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
