About Ms Tahmina Pearsall
Ms Tahmina Pearsall graduated in 1993 from the University of Manchester with her medical degree. After completion of her medical degree and subsequent foundation training, she earned a placed on the ophthalmology training programme. As part of her ophthalmology training she spent time working at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Western Eye, St Thomas' and Addenbrooke's in Cambridge. This provided her with thigh quality training and mentorship, allowing her to deliver excellent surgical care across all aspects of Ophthalmology. She is currently working as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Whipps Cross University Hospital, which is part of the Barts health Trust. She has been awarded prizes in both the UK and abroad for the research she carries out and the procedures she performs. She has also been nominated for the ‘Hospital Heroes' award. Apart from her clinical work she has developed an interest in teaching. She has published numerous book chapters and also teaches physicians in Ophthalmology courses. She is an examiner for The Royal College of Ophthalmologists. Ms Pearsall is dedicated in helping her patients to understand their own health conditions, in this way her patients can be well informed and have a say in the important decisions that are made. Ms Pearsall has expertise in a wide range of areas including: • Cataract surgery • Comprehensive medical care for Glaucoma • Laser Therapies (SLT) for Glaucoma • Conventional Glaucoma Surgery (Trabeculectomy, Tube Surgery) • Modern "Minimally Invasive" Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) • All aspects of emergency eye care • Pterygium removal • Minor eye operations • Complex Cataract surgery • General Ophthalmology and minor eye procedures
