About Mrs Sally Waters
Sally Waters is a Chartered Physiotherapist with over 30 years of experience, having worked in the NHS, the private sector, and at Imperial College. She specialises in examination, assessment, and diagnosis, and as an experienced manual therapist, she provides mobilisations and a variety of soft tissue techniques. Sally treats a wide range of neuromusculoskeletal issues, including sports injuries, joint, muscle, tendon, bone, and ligament problems, as well as back and neck pain, including sciatica and nerve root impingement. She also addresses musculoskeletal pain, stiffness, and weakness, while offering rehabilitation for post-operative and post-fracture cases, as well as prehabilitation. Furthermore, she provides guidance on postural problems, workstation advice, and occupational health concerns, including work-related upper limb disorders like RSI. She also focuses on balance, mobility, falls prevention, and offers domiciliary care. Sally qualified from St Thomas’s Hospital and underwent extensive specialised postgraduate training in neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy with the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. She began her career as a Senior Physiotherapist at Charing Cross Hospital and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. Since 1992, she has led the Physiotherapy service at the Imperial College Health Centre, treating both staff and students, and she has also worked for the Royal College of Music. During this period she also worked alongside the Consultant Physician at Arsenal FC. In her private practice, she has provided services at the Harley Street Clinic, the Royal Ballet School, and consulted for the English National Ballet, where she treats dancers and conducts orthopaedic assessments. In addition to her clinical work, Sally has lectured in College on manual handling, sports injury first aid, posture, back and neck care, and workstation advice. She is currently serving as the Occupational Health Physiotherapist at Imperial College, where she also assesses & treats a wide variety of sports injuries, back & neck pain etc for the students, staff & external patients. Additionally, she has been appointed as a Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) Physiotherapist and works extensively with the Sports Scholars at Imperial.
