Ms Ranjit Sandhu is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with a specialist interest in cataract surgery, medical retinal problems and uveitis. Ms Sandhu obtained her postgraduate doctorate degree at the University of London in assessing ocular blood flow in retinal disease before embarking on a Fellowship in Medical Retina and Uveitis at the internationally renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital.
Ms Sandhu specialises in cataract surgery without the need for glasses and has been involved in organising a randomised controlled clinical trial comparing varying types of lenses. She has also been a sub-investigator for the international GENEVA Study Group for the use of implants for central and branch retinal vein occlusions. She continually evaluates emerging, evidence-based novel treatment therapies for retinal disease and aspires to achieve the best results for her patients.
Ms Sandhu ensures her patients have access to the latest intravitreal therapies for a wide spectrum of retinal conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and retinal vein occlusions.
Ms Sandhu has presented at both national and international conferences and published papers in peer reviewed academic journals. She has also co-authored a chapter on Ocular Disease in an Optometry textbook.
