About Mr William Chambers
Mr William Chambers has been a Consultant Surgeon at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital since 2009. He completed his registrar training at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and went on to undertake further specialist training at Auckland City Hospital in New Zealand and a laparoscopic fellowship in Bristol. Mr Chambers has extensive experience in colorectal and general surgery, with particular expertise in laparoscopic techniques. He regularly performs laparoscopic surgery for pelvic floor conditions and hernias. He is highly experienced in colonoscopy and the treatment of colon and rectal polyps, as well as in the management of haemorrhoids and functional bowel disorders. He was awarded an MD (UCL) for cancer research conducted jointly between the John Radcliffe Hospital and Cancer Research UK. Mr Chambers has published widely in peer-reviewed journals on the surgical treatment of colon cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, functional bowel disorders and other aspects of colorectal surgery. He is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care using modern minimally invasive techniques wherever appropriate.
