About Prof Stephen Black
Mr Stephen Black, Consultant Vascular Surgeon, currently works at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, where he holds the position of Clinical Lead for Venous and Lymphedema surgery. He is highly specialised in the treatment of varicose veins and deep veins via minimally invasive procedures. Mr Black began his medical education in South Africa, graduating from the University of the Witwatersrand before moving to the UK to undergo an MD at Imperial College London. In 2011 he became a Fellow of the European Board of Vascular Surgery. He was appointed to his first consultant role at St Georges Hospital, before taking up his current position at Guys and St Thomas Hospital in 2014. Mr Black continues to contribute to medical education, holding the position of examiner for the Fellowship of the European Board of Vascular Surgery Exam. He is also part of the committee for the European Venous Forum Hands-on Workshops and also the Charing Cross Vascular Symposium.
