About Mr Simon Owen-Johnstone
Mr Simon Owen-Johnstone, Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon, works only within private practice, at several clinics across London, including London Bridge Hospital, OneWelbeck, and HCA the Shard. He is highly specialised in the treatment of Shoulders, Elbows, Wrists and Hands, and has vast experience in treating the whole spectrum of upper limb conditions. Mr Owen-Johnstone undertook his surgical training in the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, where he discovered his passion for orthopaedic surgery. Following this, he went on to train in orthopaedics in the Pott Rotation - Great Ormond St and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. He then underwent a national fellowship in hand surgery, before being offered a role as a consultant at the Royal Free Hospital in 2004. He further developed his skills in upper limb trauma by working with London's Helicopter Emergency Medical Service. Before his current role, he was the Orthopaedic Lead Clinician at Bart's NHS Trust London, where he gained a vast knowledge of clinical and leadership skills and was highly regarded among his peers. Mr Owen-Johnstone has an excellent beside manner and is quickly able to build a good rapport with his patients. He believes in taking a patient centred approach, and always ensures that each patient is treated depending on their individual needs and clinical findings.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
