Mr. Cheong holds an exceptional academic and professional background, having attained a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS ORL-HNS), a Master of Science with Distinction in Health Data Analytics from University College London, and an MBBS with Distinction from Imperial College London. He has also completed a Bachelor of Science in Surgical Sciences with Honours and is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MRCS ENT).

With extensive higher surgical training across world-class institutions such as the Royal Marsden Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals, and the Royal London Hospital, Mr. Cheong has developed expertise in the full breadth of otorhinolaryngology. His achievements include being the first surgeon in the UK to successfully perform the Genio Nyxoah hypoglossal nerve implant and the first female Inspire hypoglossal nerve implant for sleep apnoea, with particular recognition for performing the first female Inspire implant in the UK. These groundbreaking surgeries have garnered widespread attention, including features on Sky News, the BBC, The Guardian, The Times and other major media outlets.

Mr. Cheong has received multiple prestigious awards from institutions such as the Royal Society of Medicine, the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and the British Rhinological Society. He is also the first UK surgeon to complete the Royal Society of Medicine Ellison-Cliffe Travelling Fellowship at Stanford University Hospital Sleep Medicine Division and the Dowager Countess Eleanor Peel Trust Travelling Fellowship at the Asia Sleep Surgery Centre in Singapore.
