About Mr Richard Scawn
Mr Richard Scawn is an experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in Oculoplastic Surgery. He is the Clinical Lead for Ophthalmology and leads the Oculoplastic Service at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He also sees private patients across London at the following private hospitals: • St John & St Elizabeth Hospital • The Chiltern Hospital • Lister Hospital • Sydney Street Outpatient & Diagnostic Centre • The Portland Hospital for Women & Children • The Royal Marsden Hospital Mr Scawn completed his medical degree at Imperial College London in 2002. He completed his ophthalmology training at Moorfields Eye Hospital followed by his specialist training in oculoplastic surgery at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 2012. In 2014 he completed his Fellowship in Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California San Diego in the United States. Mr Scawn has several years of experience in the treatment of all issues relating to the eyelid ranging from burns, cancer and trauma to eyelid cysts and aesthetic eye surgery. He has expertise in the following procedures: • Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) • Eyelid cyst (chalazion) surgery • Ptosis repair • Blocked tear duct surgery
