About Mr Rajen Tailor
Mr Tailor is a Consultant Ophthalmologist who specialises in glaucoma, cataracts and general ophthalmology. His NHS practice is at the Oxford Eye Unit, John Radcliffe Hospital, where he is the lead for Glaucoma. Mr Tailor completed his medical training in London, followed by seven years of Ophthalmology training in the West Midlands and then a two-year fellowship in glaucoma at the world renowned Moorfield Eye Hospital, London. He has extensive experience in the management of glaucoma and performing cataract and glaucoma surgery. Mr Tailor performs both conventional glaucoma surgery (Trabeculectomy, Tube implant surgery) and also the newer "MIGS - Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgical" procedures such as the i-stent, KDB procedure and the XEN implant. Mr Tailor is involved in teaching, training and research and has published a number of peer-reviewed articles as well as written book chapters. Mr Tailor has also won local and national and international prizes in Glaucoma. Mr Tailor is current lead investigation for a international glaucoma trial as well as responsible for setting the glaucoma exam for the International council of Ophthalmology.
