Following this, he undertook a research degree into rotator cuff tears, earning him an MSc for his effort. He was appointed consultant in 2005.
Throughout his career, he has been awarded prizes for his work including the Robert Jones Prize and BOA medal during his higher surgical training on the North West Thames program. A year after he was appointed to consultant, he was appointed as the travelling Fellow for the British Elbow and Shoulder Society.
