Professor Owase Jeelani is a Neurosurgeon specialising in the treatment of children. He went on to train as a Neurosurgeon and Craniofacial Surgeon in the UK and Canada as well as completing a fellowship in Toronto, Canada. He currently holds a position as a consultant Neurosurgeon at the renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children (GOSH). He is one of the specialty leads at GOSH and holds an Honorary Senior Lectureship at theUniversity College London.

During his surgical training, Mr Jeelani also undertook a part time Masters degree in Medical Law. He has an interest in Health Care Strategy and also managed to complete a Business degree at the world-famous business school,INSEAD.

As a consultant Neurosurgeon at Great OrmondStreet, he performs a large number of complex operations every year. He was, for example, involved in the separation of conjoined twins and was named as one of the top British Surgeons by the Times in 2011.

He specializes in reconstructive surgery of the face after trauma or when a child is born with a deformity. He is also skilled in the management of brain tumours and conditions where there is build up of fluid in the brain (hydrocephalus) or raised pressure within the skull (intracranial pressure).
