About Mr Naren Basu
Mr Naren Basu works as a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. He completed his MBBS and an additional degree in the biology of cancer in London. He also obtained a Master's degree, studying technological advances in surgery, while completing his higher surgical training. Mr Basu has had additional training at internationally renowned institutes including Harvard Medical and Institut Curie in Paris. Mr Basu specialises in breast care, breast cancer surgery and breast-related problems. He uses his skills in oncoplastic surgery in breast cancer surgery to preserve the aesthetic outcome while effectively treating disease. He was awarded the National Oncoplastic Fellowship in 2013, and awarded a doctorate of medicine for his research into contralateral breast cancer in women by the University of Manchester. He has numerous publications in the field of risk-reducing surgery in high-risk patients. Mr Basu also trains plastic and breast surgeons worldwide and is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham.
