About
Mr Munir Ahmed completed his urological training in Nottingham and Eastbourne. He is now a Consultant Urological Surgeon, currently practising within the South London Health Care Trust. Also, he acts as a Senior Lecturer and Undergraduate Sub-Dean at King's College London Medical School. Mr Ahmed has over twenty years' worth of experience in the field of urology. He cares for up to 30,000 patients annually within the NHS and a large number of private hospitals across the country. Over the years, he has developed particular interests in laparoscopy, fertility and urological cancers.
Mr Ahmed pioneered the use of the Holmium Laser for treatment of urological stones, as well as the Greenlight Laser for prostate conditions, and laparoscopic kidney surgery at Bromley Hospitals. He is also incredibly passionate about patient empowerment – he has written and published extensively on medical education, being an advocate for patients, quality of care and quality of NHS service. He has delivered multiple presentations, including at surgeries, to develop a ‘practice perspective' on common urological problems.
Additionally, he is a tutor and examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons, as well as an expert member of the Research Ethics Committee.
