About

My clinical practice covers advanced keyhole (laparoscopic) and open surgery of the abdomen including weight loss (bariatric) surgery, anti-reflux and hiatus hernia surgery, gallstone (gallbladder removal, cholecystectomy) surgery, hernia repair surgery and diagnostic endoscopy. My aim is to be a patient-focused surgeon, recommending and providing the very highest standard of surgical treatment options.

I have sought to refine my expertise in the most advanced, evidence based and up to date procedures available. To this end my training and research has been undertaken in several specialist centres of excellence including: Northumbria Upper GI Team of Surgeons Unit, AZ Sint Jan Hospital (Bruges, Belgium) with Dr Bruno Dillemans (one of Europe's leading weight loss surgeons and Secretary General of the Belgian Obesity Surgeons). Groote Schuur (Cape Town, South Africa), St James University Hospital and Castle Hill Hospital.

My work has been published in the international and national peer-reviewed scientific literature and I am an active trainer on courses for Management of Trauma of the Injured (Advanced Trauma Life Support) and the Royal College of Surgeons keyhole surgery training courses nationally.
